Chicago Trip!

We have been fortunate to visit Chicago several times as a family over the years, made easier by the fact that Ray's sister lived there so we had a free place to stay!  However, Stevie and her husband, Dan, are moving back to Michigan, which is great since we will get to see them a lot more often!  So, we wanted to do one more family trip to Chicago before they left.  I had also been wanting to take Emmy to the American Girl store there, and we wanted to take her doll, Molly, there to be fixed.  Molly used to be my American Girl, so she is OLD  ;)   The doll had a weird eye thing going on, something called silver eye, which I found out was a defect in some of the older dolls, and I could have her fixed for free at the American Girl store - plus, Emmy didn't like playing with Molly and her scary eye!  So, off to Chicago we went!
The first evening, we packed a picnic dinner and enjoyed the beautiful evening at a nearby park.  There was a fun playground there, and the kids had a blast.  The evening ended with a super cool "taxi" ride home.  Our taxi was actually a very nice, big, luxury SUV that Dan called to come and pick us up.  The kids thought that part was so fun!
On Saturday, we headed downtown for the American Girl store.  We wandered around and dropped Molly off at the doll hospital to be fixed.  We also visited the Lego store which was fun as well.  We walked around the city a bit before heading back to Stevie and Dan's apartment.  It was a fun weekend and I am glad we got to do one more Chicago weekend, since who knows how long it will be before we get to go back!  Just a couple pics to share:
