3 reasons why I love going to Target with Pooky: (and Gummy Bear, but he is still easy)
1.) The fact that he decides, as we are at the absolute furthest possible spot in the store, that he has to go the the bathroom. Now.
2.) As we are walking past the underwear section, he reaches out and grabs a huge padded polka-dot bra and announces that "This is just like yours, Mommy!" (and for the record, no, I do not own a giant, padded polka-dot bra).
3.) As we are looking for shoes, he passes gas rather loudly, laughs hysterically, and announces very loudly, "I tooted!". Then, when I ask him to say 'excuse me', he laughs again, and shouts, "Excuse me, I tooted!".
Excellent. Maybe next time I will go shopping by myself!

Shopping Weekend!
For the past 3 days, I have been in Myrtle Beach, along with my mom and sister, for a weekend of shopping - with no kids! It was wonderful, just to have a quick getaway, and I was also able to get a good chunk of my Christmas shopping done! The weather was gorgeous, and we had a lot of fun. Ray's mom is visiting from Michigan, so she was at the house helping Ray with the kids. A few photos ~

Pretty sunset - our view from the 12th floor
Our view of the beach from the balcony - it was too chilly to go in the water, but our condo had an indoor pool, lazy river, and hot tub, so we got to relax there too!

My New Best Friend
I love it.
Emmy really likes it too for some reason.
Yes, I realize it is a bit sad to get so excited about a vacuum, but when you stay at home with 2 little tornadoes and are constantly cleaning and vacuuming the carpet, a nice, new shiny, PINK vacuum just makes your day.
So, the pink Dyson is my new best friend.
I vacuumed the entire house yesterday, twice. Even the stairs.
If anyone is looking for a new vacuum and can't afford a $400-500 new Dyson, check out Amazon for the refurbished models like mine - it looks and works like brand new and you can't beat the price...
If I don't post again for the next several days, it is because I am busy vacuuming.

Pooky has some pukey-illness last night and today. Poor little guy! I am desperately hoping he makes a rapid recovery and does make the rest of us sick, because my very favorite Tot Trade is this weekend, and some great neighborhood garage sales are going on as well... I've got some shopping to do!
And it is currently 10:35 pm, and Emmy is still up. She has gotten out of bed about 10 times now and will NOT go to sleep.... ugh.

What did I Buy?
I went to Lowe's last week, and bought a couple of Crape Myrtle trees for my yard, along with a few other things. The receipt was on the counter this morning and this is what it has on it.
Am I the only one who finds it funny that I bought a dwarf ass?

Weekend in Review
Another weekend has flown by, to be followed by a busy week. We are getting ready for another vacation, this time to Michigan for a week to visit family and friends, and also to attend a friend's wedding. My whole family is going, including my parents and sister. We leave on Saturday, and I can't wait.
This past Saturday, we spent the day at a friend of Ray's from work, and enjoyed a yummy shrimp boil, and the kids had fun running around and jumping on a big trampoline. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and we had a fun time. A few pictures can be found here, on our friend Kim's blog. Yesterday, we went to church, then lunch with friends at my favorite place, Q-Doba Mexican Grill (kids eat free on Sunday!). After lunch, I met up with my mom and sister, who is here from Florida and went shopping. And... that was it. My whole weekend.
And this week, we just have lots of little things going on. I will be busy so I don't know if I will blog much. Happy Monday!

Ugly Shoes
I remember one of the first times I saw someone wearing Crocs. He was an older gentleman, heavyset and wearing plaid shorts, a brightly colored t-shirt, and neon pink Crocs. We were out to dinner, some place like Applebees, and I could not stop staring at this guy's shoes. Because I thought that he looked ridiculous. One, because Crocs are not generally considered attractive footwear, and two, a man wearing bright pink plastic shoes is funny to me. I thought maybe he was very color blind? Or maybe he had grabbed his wife's beach shoes by mistake? Either way, I found this picture and it reminds me a bit of that guy I saw....
After that day, I started seeing people wearing these funny shoes all the time, and I swore that I would never wear them. Or my kids would never wear them. I didn't care if they were supposedly comfortable. I would NOT buy them. If you happen to love these shoes, I am not trying to be mean - I just find them to be funny looking.
Well..... Emmy and I were in Target this week looking at the shoes, because I wanted to find some sort of flip flop that she could wear outside while playing in the sprinkler, since our grass is kinda poky. And I ended up buying these....

And she loves them. I still think they are ugly. But for $6.99 they will make fine sprinkler shoes. Don't expect to see us out in public with them though! ;)

I Think that I am Cute....
The kiddos and I were shopping at JC Penney this afternoon, and the cashier at check-out was oohing and aahing over how cute my kids are. I thanked her, paid for my purchase, and took the bag. Then she said, "They must look like their daddy, because they really don't look like you at all."
I smiled, and agreed that yes, they did look like my husband, thanked her and left.
And as I was walking out, it hit me.
Did she just say that I am not cute??

Cart Thingy
I am so very excited. Last night, I purchased one of those cart thingys - you know, one of those covers that sits inside the seat in a shopping cart to keep your kid away from the nastiness of the carts...? (or for you South Carolina weirdos, it goes on a buggy). I wanted one with Emmy, because she always insisted on sucking on the handle of the cart while we were shopping. Gross. Who knows what germs and other gross things are lingering on those things? It's not like shopping carts ever get washed, except for the occasional rain shower outside.
I just realized how sad I am. I am way too excited about this thing. But it is so cool! Look...
How fun! I love it.
